Adverse life and childhood experiences known as ACES can lead our brains and bodies to create natural adaptations to cope with these life events. We are beginning to understand that trauma is the underlying link to many life struggles.
Alcohol and other drug related struggles are common struggles for 20-30% of our communities especially in Wisconsin. Often times it is the result of a number of factors: beginning at an early age, growing up in a family where it is prevalent, having a brain/body that enjoys the intoxication, and entangled other life struggles that get wrapped into substance use.
In addition to the personal struggles with alcohol or drugs, the family and loved ones need support too.
Not feeling like your life is living up to it’s potential or things that just keep getting in your way such as anxiety, depressed moods, having blocks in certain areas of your life, and/or wanting to increase your success. All or a few of these can be a good reason to reach out for professional support.
