My name is Jeff Ryan. I created Advanced Counseling and Consulting Services (ACCS) out of my passion and desire to bring cutting edged training and skills for individuals and agencies. I truly enjoy working to help people increase their knowledge, skills, and confidence especially in the areas of addiction, trauma and/or Brainspotting. From trauma informing addiction services to increasing mind/body clinical strategies in the treatment of trauma or addiction to integrating Brainspotting into the treatment of addiction and/or trauma; all are exciting growth opportunities that I love to work on with professionals. As one of 30 individuals in the world that is a Brainspotting trainer under David Grand the creator of Brainspotting, I especially love training and helping individuals grow their skills with Brainspotting. Here are some of the examples of my training, consulting and supervision experience:

  • Co-developer of international BSP research project on Addiction and Brainspotting - 2017
  • Brainspotting trainer – 2013-present -- Trained or co-trained professionals seeking to become Brainspotting practitioners
  • Mooring programs – 2016 – Hired to assist adult AODA residential treatment program in quality improvements with clinical supervision, trauma informing care, and implementing training program for entire agency with Motivational Interviewing

  • Presented brown bag seminar of Brainspotting and Addiction for Midwest Brainspotting Institute
  • Teaching 5 years at FVTC (2010-15) and currently teaching at Lakeland University
  • Individual and group consultation with BSP practitioners 2014-present

"I have consulted and/or interacted with Jeff in several professional capacities, during my journey to get certified in Brainspotting, and always found him open, non-judgmental, encouraging, and supportive. His input has always been helpful, extremely applicable to the situation I wanted to address with him in consultation, and very generous with his desire to make sure that I received the information I was seeking." -Patricia Johnson, OTR/L, MA, LMFT

"Jeff provided me with excellent supervision during an internship at a private counseling practice in Appleton, WI. Since completing my internship and opening up my own practice, I immediately felt a loss in supervisory knowledge, training and experience and felt stagnant in my own growth as a counselor. Therefore in working to complete my training license, I asked Jeff to resume his previous role of supervisor. I have enjoyed continuing my work with him and not only appreciate his deep well of clinical knowledge, but the personal support and encouragement he provides. Additionally he has breathed life into my work with clients and I find myself excited and engaged again as I grow, both personally and professionally, under Jeff’s tutelage. I would highly recommend Jeff as a supervisor or a consultant to anyone looking to improve their skills, be challenged in their work with clients, and who want to gain new insight into themselves." – Rebecca Riedel, LPCIT Restoring Hope Counseling
